The Patriots announced today they have signed fullback Larry Centers and released wide receiver J.J. Stokes.
Speculation the Patriots may re-sign Centers, who they let go earlier in the season with an injury settlement, wound up being accurate. Today was the first day Centers was eligible to be re-signed in accordance with the injury settlement rule, and the Patriots wasted no time in doing so. Up to the point he was released earlier this season, he had rushed 15 times for 69 yards and caught 17 passes for 96 yards and a touchdown.
Stokes, who was signed as a free agent after David Patten was placed in IR, played in two games with 2 receptions for 38 yards.
