FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Patriots signed guard Ryan Krug to the practice squad today. The Patriots practice squad now consists of seven players, one shy of the NFL's eight-man limit.
Krug, 23, was originally signed by the Patriots as an undrafted free agent on April 29, 2005 and re-joins the practice squad after being released on Dec. 13. The 6-foot-4-inch, 305-pound offensive lineman played for the Patriots in the 2005 preseason before being released on Sept. 3, 2005. Krug, who attended the University of Connecticut, was signed to the practice squad on Sept. 4, released from the practice squad on Sept. 8, and later re-signed to the practice squad on Sept. 28 before being released again on Dec. 13.
