FOXBORO, Mass. - The New England Patriots signed a rookie defensive end Setema Gali to the practice squad today. Subsequently, the team released linebacker Maugaula Tuitele from the practice squad.
Gali, 25, was signed by the San Diego Chargers as a rookie free agent following the 2001 NFL draft. The 6-foot-4-inch, 245 pound defensive end played four seasons at Brigham Young beginning in 1997. He finished his collegiate career with 94 total tackles, including 19 sacks and 32 tackles for losses. He earned all-conference honors as a senior after recording 39 tackles and 10 sacks.
