FOXBORO, Mass. - The New England Patriots announced that they have waived tight end Jermaine Wiggins.

FOXBORO, Mass. - The New England Patriots announced that they have waived tight end Jermaine Wiggins.

Wiggins, 27, joined the Patriots when he was claimed off waivers from the Jets on Nov. 28, 2000. He started two of the remaining four games for the Patriots and caught 16 passes for 203 yards and a touchdown. The 6-foot-2-inch, 255-pound Boston native appeared in every game for the Patriots in 2002, starting six of the 16 regular season games and two of the three postseason games. He finished the season with 14 receptions for 133 yards and four touchdowns.
