A thunderstorm passing right over the Flowery Branch area produced some spectacular lightning very close - within a mile or two - to the Falcons headquarters. As a result, the start of the afternoon joint practice was delayed a good half-hour. But shortly after it passed, the skies cleared, the sun shone through thinning clouds, and the humidity picked up. Conditions, however, were by no means unbearable.
