… Overcast skies and temps in the mid-40s greeted the Patriots at practice on their double outdoor practice fields for their first workout of Broncos Week. Players were in shells, helmets, and sweats.
… Right tackle Sebastian Vollmer (back/right foot) remains out of commission, and now safety Patrick Chung (right foot) is unable to take the field. He'd been practicing with his injury the past several weeks, but not active on game days. He was spotted in the locker room Monday with a medical boot on his right foot, the first time we'd seen that since he sustained his injury.
… Punter Zoltan Mesko was among the Practice Players of the Week. He was wearing a black jersey today at practice, along with o-lineman Donald Thomas and practice squad players Mike Rivera, Markell Carter, Alex Silvestro, and Ross Ventrone.
… Rookie DB Sterling Moore is back on the squad. He was released Saturday when the team traveled to Washington, D.C., to make room for fellow rookie Malcolm Williams on the 53-man roster. Williams' promotion from the practice squad meant there was an opening there, though, and the Patriots filled that void by re-signing Moore.
… TE Rob Gronkowski has been named AFC Offensive Player of the Week for his record-setting performance against the Redskins in Week 14.
… A full injury status update, for both the Patriots and Broncos, will be posted around 4 p.m. here in this blog entry.
