Ty Law, Pro Football and Patriots Hall of Famer and distinguished alumnus of Aliquippa High School, has been named among the 15 inductees of the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) Hall of Fame Class of 2025.
During his tenure at Aliquippa, Law was a versatile athlete, excelling in football, basketball, and track. In football, he played multiple positions, including cornerback, safety, wide receiver, and running back. Law was instrumental in leading Aliquippa to victory in the 1991 Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) Class 3A football championship.
Following high school, Law attended the University of Michigan, where he continued to excel in football. He earned first-team All-American honors from the Walter Camp Football Foundation as a junior and was a two-time unanimous All-Big Ten Conference selection.
In the 1995 NFL Draft, Law was selected in the first round by the Patriots. Over his 10-season career with the Patriots, he achieved significant milestones, including three Super Bowl championships, five Pro Bowl selections and two First-Team All-Pro honors.
Law led the NFL in interceptions in 1998 and 2005 and still holds the Patriots team interception record, tied with Raymond Clayborn with 36. His outstanding contributions to the sport were further recognized with his induction into the Patriots Hall of Fame in 2014 and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2019.
The WPIAL Hall of Fame induction ceremony is scheduled for Friday, June 6, 2025, at the DoubleTree Hotel in Green Tree.
