Foxborough, Mass. - The Hall at Patriot Place presented by Raytheon honored the Auburn High School Football team on Thursday, March 12, raising the Rockets' jersey to the Wall of Champions in the New England Football exhibit in recognition of the team's Division 2A Super Bowl victory in December 2008.
The Wall of Champions displays actual jerseys from every high school and Pop Warner champion in New England. The exhibit also features interactive touch screens that allow fans to peruse information about high school football programs in New England and highlight some of the personalities, rivalries and stories unique to football in the region.
Rockets coach Jeff Cormier and his team were joined at The Hall by Auburn High School Principal Casey Handfield and Athletic Director Bill Garneau. After their jersey was raised to the wall, the team viewed The Hall's signature film, heard from members of the Patriots organization about careers in sports, and toured the 36,000-square-foot building.
"The team couldn't wait to come down to see their jersey raised and tour the facility," said Cormier. "We're proud to be here and we're proud to have such a high-quality professional football team down the street. It's a first-class organization."
