Bill Belichick Postgame Press Conference Transcript

Patriots head coach Bill Belichick addresses the media during his postgame press conference at Ralph Wilson Stadium on Sunday, September 25, 2011.

General Comments:
"Obviously it was a disappointing loss for us today. It was a hard-fought game. Buffalo did a good job; it's always difficult coming in here. They made a few more plays than we did today. We just have to do a better job-obviously turnovers, the long drive-all the things that didn't help us, we've just got to do a better job."

Any explanations for Brady's second half struggles?
"I don't know. [Buffalo] mixed it up a little; they did it the whole game."

On giving up 21 point lead:
"We obviously didn't play well enough to win. We're disappointed in that. I don't think anyone thought it was going to be easy."

On penalties, undisciplined play:
"We've got to do a better job."

On 2nd charged timeout toward end of game:
"We took it."

Was that a miscommunication (timeout)?
"I took it."

Why were you on the field-we're you contesting the spot of the ball?
"No, I took a timeout. I went down to call a timeout. What don't you understand about that?"

You looked a little animated to be calling a timeout-what were you discussing?
"[The officials] were waving me back, and I was going down there to call it."

On Brady's performance:
"We turned the ball over four times. You don't win many games that way."

On offensive production this year vs. the norm:
"I don't know about the rest of the league. I just know the games we play. We just need to score more and give up less."

How much different is Buffalo this year?
"They did a good job. They've been doing a good job. Chan's done a great job with the team, and they're playing well."
