The Boston Herald reported Friday that the New England Patriots' star quarterback recently was photographed working out on a sun-splashed field in Los Angeles, almost three months after he had surgery on a stress fracture in his troublesome right foot.

Brady, who's rehabilitating in California, had his foot and ankle partially concealed by workout pants and shoes, but he appeared to be free of the walking boot he wore last month in Brazil while traveling with his wife, supermodel Gisele Bündchen.

This wasn't Brady's first surgery. The six-time Pro Bowl pick had a season-ending operation after he injured his left knee during the 2008 opener, but the foot injury predated that and caused the quarterback to miss time during training camp that year. He played in every game in 2009 despite having hand and rib injuries for much of the second half of the season.

Brady didn't have issues with the foot during the 2009 season or the offseason that followed, but it "really flared up in the fall," a source told NFL Network's Albert Breer in January.

Still, Brady posted outstanding numbers last season, netting him his second NFL MVP award. He threw for 3,900 yards and led the league in passer rating (111.0), touchdown passes (36) and fewest interceptions (four) as New England went 14-2 during the regular season and had home-field advantage for the AFC playoffs before losing in the divisional round.
