A closer look at the nominees:
Jackson seals Eagles' miracle comeback After trailing 31-10 to the New York Giants with 7:28 remaining, the Philadelphia Eagles fought back and tied the game, which seemed destined for overtime. But WR DeSEAN JACKSON would have none of it. Hobbled by a foot injury all week, Jackson returned a punt 65 yards for a touchdown on the final play of the game, giving the Eagles an improbable victory.
Connolly returns momentum to Patriots In need of a spark after falling behind by 10 points, the New England Patriots received one from 313-pound guard DAN CONNOLLY. With just over two minutes to play in the first half, the practice-squad regular cradled a squib kick and motored 71 yards for the longest kickoff return by an offensive lineman in NFL history. Three plays later, the Patriots scored to take momentum into the half.
Morris comes up big to end Lions' road streak Without a victory on the road in more than three years, the Lions can now exhale. Lions RB MAURICE MORRIS rushed for 35 of his 109 yards on Detroit's opening drive of overtime to help set up K DAVE RAYNEROEs winning field goal, giving the Lions a victory over playoff-contending Tampa Bay and ending their NFL-record for consecutive road losses at 26.
winners. Fans can vote for the winner on NFL.com/gmc throughout the month of January.
