FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - Gloucester High School's Paul Ingram has been named the New England Patriots High School Coach of the Week in recognition of his team's 9-0 start, including Gloucester's 22nd straight win, a 42-18 win over Revere last week. The New England Patriots Charitable Foundation will donate $1,000 to Gloucester High School's football program in Ingram's name in recognition of his Coach of the Week selection.
Coach Ingram and his captains - Andrew Mizzoni, Chris Unis, Mike Tomaino and Gilbert Brown - were guests at Gillette Stadium on Wednesday to receive the award and will be featured on the team's weekly television magazine show, Patriots All Access, which airs at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 12 on WBZ-TV in Boston and later on Patriots.com.
This season marks the 15th year in which the Patriots have joined the National Football League in conducting the High School Coach of the Week program, which recognizes outstanding high school coaches and promotes youth football throughout New England. Patriots and NFL Hall of Fame linebacker Andre Tippett, the team's executive director of community affairs, oversees the program as part of the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation's commitment to youth football initiatives.
"Coach Ingram clearly has his team clicking on all cylinders, which is evident in the team's 22nd straight win last week," said Tippet. "Having met the captains Wednesday, I immediately could tell it's about tradition, discipline, character and pride with the Fishermen from Gloucester. The Patriots would like to congratulate the entire team on their undefeated start to the season as well as their 4-0 conference record, and we are happy to present Coach Ingram with this week's New England Patriots High School Coach of the Week award. We are proud to be able to reward his team and Gloucester High School with a donation to the football program and we wish them the best of luck going forward."
At the conclusion of the season, one high school coach will be named the New England Patriots High School Coach of the Year and will receive an additional $2,000 contribution toward the school's football program.
