FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The New England Patriots today activated OL Mark LeVoir to the 53-man roster from the reserve/physically unable to perform list, and WR Brandon Tate to the 53-man roster from the reserve/non-football injury list.
LeVoir, 6-7, 310 pounds, played in every game last season for New England with two starts at right tackle. He joined the Patriots after being claimed off waivers from the St. Louis Rams on Sept. 1, 2008. He was originally signed by the Chicago Bears as a rookie free agent out of Notre Dame in 2006. LeVoir spent his rookie season on the Chicago practice squad and started the 2007 season on the Bears' practice squad before being signed to the St. Louis 53-man roster in November.
Tate, 6-1, 195 pounds, was drafted by the Patriots out of North Carolina with the first of their two third-round selections of the 2009 NFL Draft, (83rd overall).
