FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Patriots' 2009 preseason opponents were announced today. The Patriots will open the 2009 preseason with a road game at Philadelphia between August 13-17. New England will play its first home preseason game against Cincinnati between Aug. 20-24. The Patriots will then travel to Washington to play the Redskins in a prime-time, nationally-televised matchup on Friday, Aug. 28 at 8:00 p.m. The Patriots will close out the 2009 preseason with a home date against the New York Giants between Sept. 3-4. Exact dates and times for New England's preseason games in Weeks 1, 2 and 4 will be announced at a later date.

All of the Patriots' preseason games will be televised in the Boston television market on WBZ-TV. A network of regional affiliates will also broadcast the games in Preseason Weeks 1, 2 and 4 on the Patriots Preseason TV Network. Fans throughout New England should check their local listings for exact stations and times. The Patriots' Aug. 28 game at Washington will be broadcast to a national audience by CBS and can be seen in the Boston market on WBZ-TV.

Two games on the Patriots' regular-season schedule have already been announced. New England will open the 2009 regular season on Monday, Sept. 14 against the Buffalo Bills. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on ESPN. Additionally, the Patriots will travel to London to play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, Oct. 25. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on CBS.
