FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Patriots acquired wide receiver Andre' Davis from the Cleveland Browns today in exchange for an undisclosed draft selection.

Davis, 26, is entering his fourth NFL season and was originally selected by the Browns in the second round (47th overall) of the 2002 NFL Draft. In three seasons in Cleveland, the 6-foot-1-inch, 195-pound receiver started 19 of 39 games and made 93 receptions for 1,412 yards and 13 touchdowns. Last season, he started all seven games in which he played and caught 16 passes for 416 yards. His 99-yard touchdown reception against Cincinnati on Oct. 17, 2004 was the longest in Browns franchise history and marked just the 10th time in NFL history a player had made a reception that long. Davis set career highs in 2003 with 40 receptions and 576 receiving yards. The Virginia Tech product also set a career high with six touchdown catches as a rookie in 2002. Davis will wear number 18 for the Patriots.
