Patriots.com News Blitz - 05/18/10

Pretty slow May morning of news in Patriots Nation as a piece detailing former second-round pick Terrence Wheatley leads the way on Tuesday's Patriots.com News Blitz!

It wasn't long ago that Terrence Wheatley was riding a high as a second-round pick embarking on his NFL career. But two injury-plagued NFL seasons later and only 11 games played later, Wheatley told ESPNBoston.com that he realizes he has no more “free years” to earn his keep in New England.

ESPNBoston.com also looks at second-year linebacker Tyrone McKenzie's chances of competing for playing time at inside linebacker, among the blog’s seven areas of competition to keep an eye on in training camp. McKenzie, incidentally, is set to meet with the local media Tuesday morning

The Boston.com blog has a blurb about oft-injured former Patriots tackle Adrian Klemm, who’s now an offensive line coach on June Jones' staff at SMU. Klemm played for Jones at Hawaii.

The blogs on both Boston.com and the ***Boston Herald*** have quick hits on Wes Welker's upcoming football camp, which takes place this coming weekend.

While we're bouncing around the digital domain for stories CSNNE.com -- which is the long acronym website arm of Comcast Sports New England -- has a forecast for the “Logan Mankins Situation.”

Also digitally, WEEI.com looks at the biggest questions still facing the Patriots a this point in the offseason.

And some good-looking writer over at Patriots Football Weekly checks in witha blog post predicting the Patriots starting lineup. Check it out!
