**Mike Reiss** of ESPNBoston.com cites a report from Aaron Wilson of Scout.com that says Patriots free-agent defensive end Mark Anderson is set to visit the Miami Dolphins.  Anderson recorded 12.5 sacks last season, including 2.5 sacks in the playoffs.  Reiss writes that Anderson is one of the more compelling Patriots free agents because he wasn't a full time player over the course of the year, but played well when given more playing time after Andre Carter's season ending injury.  He continues, "The Patriots had discussions with Anderson's reps prior to free agency, but similar to running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis, they couldn't find a middle ground."

**Greg A. Bedard** of The Boston Globe reports that the Patriots have re-signed C/G Dan Connolly, according to a league source.  Connolly, 29, came to the Patriots in 2007 when he was signed to the practice squad.  He's started 24 games the previous two seasons.  Bedard adds, "The Patriots let both Connolly and Koppen, 32, become free agents, and the Patriots were negotiating with both to find the best deal. But they preferred to move forward with Connolly because he's younger."

**Ian R. Rapoport** of The Boston Herald reports that safety Steve Gregory has signed a three-year deal with the New England Patriots, according to a source.  The deal was confirmed by Gregory's agent.  Rapoport writes that Gregory, a former Charger, could become a starter alongside Patrick Chung next season and will help to solidify the Patriots' secondary.  "A 5-foot-11, 195-pound Syracuse product, Gregory can play safety, corner, in the nickel package, and on special teams. He had 67 tackles and one interception last year, but was suspended for four games for violating the league's policy against performance enhancing substances in 2010."

**Christopher Price** of WEEI.com takes a look at the Patriots' recent moves in free-agency and discusses what the signings mean for the franchise.  Price calls safety Steve Gregory "the biggest signing of the day."  He adds, "With the Patriots, the 29-year-old could find a home at free safety, challenging James Ihedigbo for snaps. In addition, the presence of Gregory on the roster (and the possible acquisition of Landry) could mean Devin McCourty will make a full-time return to corner in 2012."

**CSNNE.com** reports that Raiders' free-agent DE Trevor Scott will visit with the Patriots, according to multiple reports.  Scott, a sixth round pick out of the University of Buffalo, totaled 13.5 sacks and 97 tackles during his four seasons with Oakland.  The report adds, "Scotts would provide some pass-rushing help if free agents Andre Carter and Mark Anderson do not return, but is more likely a depth move."
