FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The New England Patriots signed Isaiah Stanback from the practice squad to the 53-man roster and placed WR Brandon Tate on injured reserve with a knee injury.
Stanback, 6-2, 208 pounds, spent the last two seasons with the Dallas Cowboys after joining the team as a fourth-round draft pick out of Washington in 2007. He was signed to the New England practice squad on Sept. 7 after being waived by Dallas.
Tate, 6-1, 195 pounds, was drafted by New England in the third-round out of North Carolina in 2009. He played in two games for the Patriots in 2009 and returned four kicks for 106 yards.
