FOXBORO, Mass. –The New England Patriots waived five players today to reach the NFL's roster limit of 65. The players released today are linebacker Casey Tisdale, safety Rodney Rideau, tight end Rob Tardio and offensive linemen Ryan Tujague (TWO-jay) and Brent Warren. Three players who played in NFL Europe (Garrett Johnson, Marc Megna and Sean Morey) carry roster exemptions, giving the Patriots 67 players on their active roster.

Tisdale, 24, was drafted by the Patriots in the seventh round of the 2000 NFL draft. He was the 226th player selected overall. The 6-foot-4-inch, 255-pound New Mexico product played in each of the Patriots first four preseason games and was credited with 11 tackles, including one sack.
Rideau, 22, was originally signed by the Patriots as a rookie free agent out of Oklahoma following the 2000 NFL draft. He was released on Aug. 15, but was re-signed two days later. The 5-foot-10-inch, 200-pound prospect played in each of the first three preseason games and was credited with two tackles.

Tardio, 23, was signed by the Patriots as a first-year free agent on Feb. 29, 2000. The 6-foot-5-inch, 245-pound tight end played locally at Boston College before signing with the Washington Redskins following the 1999 NFL draft. He was released during the preseason (9/6/99).
Tujague, 24, signed with the Patriots as a rookie free agent following the 2000 NFL draft. The 6-foot-5-inch, 300-pound offensive tackle from Washington State saw reserve duty in each of the preseason games.

Warren, 25, originally signed with the Patriots as a rookie free agent on April 24, 1998. He was released during training camp (8/24/98). The Patriots re-signed him following the season and allocated him to the Berlin Thunder of NFL Europe. He was released by the Patriots on Aug. 30, 1999. He signed with the New Orleans Saints on April 6, 2000, but was released on June 30. The 6-foot-5-inch, 338-pound guard is a native of Brockton, Mass.
