OWINGS MILLS, Md. (May 17, 2006) -- The Baltimore Ravens signed former Oakland Raiders linebacker Tim Johnson to a one-year contract.
A fifth-year veteran who attended Youngstown State, Johnson tried out at last weekend's rookie minicamp and stood out with an interception.
The 6-foot, 245-pounder tried out for the Ravens at their 2001 training camp after their Super Bowl title, but didn't make the final roster.
The Ravens also signed undrafted rookie long snapper Landon Schrage of Iowa State, who tried out last weekend. Baltimore retained its exclusive rights to defensive back Evan Oglesby of North Alabama.
