According to the NFL Network the Patriots are expected to meet with Josh McDaniels.

According to the NFL Network, the Patriots have received permission from the Rams to speak with St. Louis offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels about returning to New England.

NFLN reports that New England is expected to meet with McDaniels – who coached under Bill Belichick from 2001 through 2008 before becoming head coach of the Broncos – this weekend.

Current Patriots offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien is set to be announced as the new head coach at Penn State on Saturday.

O'Brien is expected to finish out the season with New England before moving on to Happy Valley to replace Joe Paterno.
