FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - Stephen Gostkowski has been named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance in the Patriots' 33-8 victory over the Oakland Raiders on Sunday. It is the first time this season and the sixth time in his career that Gostkowski has been named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week. He earned the award for twice in 2016, twice in 2015 and once in 2009. Gostkowski has also been named Special Teams Player of the Month three times - October 2008, October 2013 and September 2015.
Gostkowski was 4-for-4 on field goals in the win over the Raiders, including a franchise record 62-yard kick with time winding down in the first half. He also connected on tries of 51, 40 and 29 yards. It marked the third time in his career that he has kicked two field goals of at least 50 yards in the same game. He had a 51-yarder and a 53-yarder vs. Arizona (9/16/12) and had two 53-yarders at Houston (9/22/16). It is also the 14th time in his career he has made four or more kicks in a single game.
