WR WES WELKER
(On the Steelers pass defense)
"I think it has a lot to do with pass rush and being able to get to the quarterback. They do a great job of that. And they have a lot of instinctive guys back there that fly around to the football, that make plays and are always around the action. So you have to make sure you're running good routes and getting to open spots and getting open quick and able to move the ball down the field."
(On if they can take advantage of the Steelers defense)
"If you're running good routes and you block well and hold them up up front and run good routes, at the end of the day, yeah, there are always openings in every defense. We've just got to make sure we're staying on top of that and make sure we're getting open and making plays."?
(On the Patriots being good at bouncing back after losses)
"I think a lot of times after losses, the best thing to do is get back to work. I feel like that's what our mentality has been this week and what it remains to be. And hopefully this Sunday we just stay involved like we have the whole week."
K SHAYNE GRAHAM
(On how he views the rest of the season)
"I think no matter what, my goal is to put [the ball] through the uprights and kick off well. As far as I'm concerned right now, this is my team and I want to help this team win. Other than that, I know that next year is going to be up in the air; I don't know where I'm going to be. But for the time being, I'm here, I'm a Patriot, and I plan on winning as a Patriot."
RB SAMMY MORRIS
(On what the Patriots have been preparing for in Pittsburgh)
"Doing what we do. I think the times this year we've had any kind of lack of production or [we were] just not doing as well as we like, it's been more of a lack of execution."
(On the importance of blitz pick up against the Steelers)
"Blitz pickup is obviously important any week. I think they do a lot of things to create mismatches, but like I said, that's what we do every week. As backs, we've got to be able to stand up to them."
(On blitz a package where they put Lamarr Woodley and James Harrison on the same side)
"They're good football players, and they've got a great scheme that suits them well. No matter what they thrown in front of us, we've got to be able to execute."
CB DEVIN McCOURTY
(On Mike Wallace)
"The guy can fly. You see it on tape where he's running away from guys and he's able to make big plays on offense. You've got guys like [Antwaan] Randle El and Hines Ward that will make a lot of plays, and then with him as a deep threat it helps their offense out a lot."
(On Pittsburgh being known for having big, physical wide receivers)
"You see in the run game the receivers have no problem coming down [and] crack blocking, blocking corners, even coming down on linebackers. They're not the receivers that everybody talks about as being prima donnas. They're physical guys."
RB FRED TAYLOR
(On how his toe feels)
"It's getting better. It's continuing to get better. There haven't been any setbacks. I had a productive week, so [I'll] go from there."
(On if he will play Sunday)
"You're talking about the Steelers…You've got to want to play against that team. It's not my call, to answer your question. You'll probably be better off saving that one for Coach [Bill] Belichick."
(On if Coach Belichick has given him an indication about playing in this week's game)
"Not yet. I'm not sure how that whole decision making process comes about, but I'm sure I'll be hearing something in the near future."
