(May 23, 2006) -- NFL Network will present exclusive live coverage of the Yello Strom World Bowl XIV on Saturday, May 27, at 12 Noon ET when the top two offenses in NFL Europe, the Frankfurt Galaxy (7-3) and the Amsterdam Admirals (7-3), battle for the championship.
This marks the first time NFL Network will carry NFL Europe's championship game live.
NFL Europe MVP candidates will be on display in Yello Strom World Bowl XIV. The league's top receiver Skyler Fulton, who amassed 992 receiving yards, leads the Admirals against NFL Europe's rushing champion, Roger Robinson of the Galaxy, who set the single-season rushing record this year after finishing with 1,087 rushing yards.
The Admirals look to defend their World Bowl title. The Galaxy will make the franchise's seventh appearance in the World Bowl. These two teams previously faced each other in the 1995 World Bowl, with Frankfurt beating Amsterdam 26-22 to win its first title. This season, the Admirals won both matches between the teams, including a 17-12 victory on May 14.
The Oakland Raiders will be the most represented team in World Bowl XIV, having six players on the Amsterdam and Frankfurt rosters. The Lions, Packers and Jets each have five players participating in the game.
Veteran NFL Europe broadcasters Curt Menefee and Brian Baldinger will call the action from LTU Arena in Düsseldorf, Germany. This marks the 10th World Bowl for Baldinger and fourth for Menefee.
In addition, NFL Total Access will preview Yello Strom World Bowl XIV with a report from Düsseldorf on Friday, May 26, at 7 p.m. ET.
Encore presentations of Yello Strom World Bowl XIV will air on Saturday, May 27, at 6 p.m. ET and Sunday, May 28, at 8 p.m. ET.
For 14 seasons, NFL Europe has been a proving ground for many of today's top NFL players, including Super Bowl quarterbacks Jake Delhomme, Brad Johnson and Kurt Warner, as well as Pro Bowl players La'Roi Glover, Dante Hall and Adam Vinatieri.
