PATRIOTS SCORE ON DEFENSE FOR FIRST TIME IN 2024
The Patriots scored on defense for the first time in 2024 when CB Christian Gonzalez returned a RB Jaylen Wright fumble 62 yards for a touchdown. It was the Patriots first fumble returned for a touchdown since LB Raekwon McMillan returned a fumble for a 23-yard touchdown at Arizona on Dec. 12, 2022. It was Gonzalez's first NFL touchdown.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
DRAKE MAYE THROWS 10TH TD PASS TO 10TH DIFFERENT RECEIVER
QB Drake Maye recorded his 10th touchdown to a different receiver on a 38-yard touchdown pass to TE Austin Hooper in the fourth quarter, tying former Denver Broncos QB Steve Ramsey (1971-73) for the most consecutive touchdown to a different receiver to start a career. Maye completed touchdown passes to WR Kayshon Boutte, TE Hunter Henry, WR DeMario Douglas, RB JaMycal Hasty, WR K.J. Osborn, RB Rhamondre Stevenson, WR Ja'Lynn Polk, WR Kendrick Bourne and LT Vederian Lowe in addition to Hooper.
BARMORE HAS FIRST SACK OF THE SEASON
DL Christian Barmore recorded his first sack of the 2024 season with a 2-yard sack of QB Tua Tagovailoa in the third quarter.
HENRY EXTENDS STREAK WITH A RECEPTION
TE Hunter Henry extended his streak to 15-straight games with a reception with a 6-yard reception in the first quarter. It is the longest streak for a Patriots tight end since Martellus Bennett's streak of 18 games extending from 2016 to 2017. The last game when Henry did not have a reception was on Nov. 26, 2023, at the New York Giants.
JAHLANI TAVAI RECORDS AT LEAST 5 TACKLES IN EIGHTH-STRAIGHT GAME
LB Jahlani Tavai had his eighth-straight game with at least 5 total tackles. Tavai finished the game with 8 total tackles.
HOOPER HAS THIRD-LONGEST TD OF HIS CAREER
TE Austin Hooper caught a 38-yard touchdown pass from QB Drake Maye in the fourth quarter, the thirdlongest touchdown pass of his career behind the 88-yard touchdown at Chicago on Sept. 29, 2019, and a 42yard touchdown pass vs. Carolina on Oct. 2, 2016.
SCHOOLER HAS SECOND CAREER SACK
S Brenden Schooler recorded his second-career sack at Miami (11/24) when he dropped QB Tua Tagovailoa for a 7-yard loss in the fourth quarter. Schooler, who was playing on defense for the second time in 2024, had his first sack at Chicago on Nov. 10.
LINEUP NOTES
• TE Jack Westover was elevated from the practice squad and made his NFL debut on the kickoff return team to start the game. He saw his first offensive snap on the kneel down prior to the end of the first half.
• WR Javon Baker made his first NFL start.
• S Brenden Schooler saw snaps at safety for the second time in 2024.
• G Sidy Sow saw his first regular season snaps at right tackle in the fourth quarter.
