INDIVIDUAL NOTES
QB JACOBY BRISSETT LEADS PATRIOTS ON TWO FOURTH QUARTER SCORING DRIVES
QB Jacoby Brissett entered the game in the second quarter following an injury to QB Drake Maye. He led the Patriots on two fourth-quarter scoring drives to snap the Patriots six-game losing streak. He helped engineer a 14-play, 61-yard drive that ended in a 23-yard field goal. During that drive he completed two third-down plays, a 12-yard pass to TE Hunter Henry on third-and-11 and then a 14-yard pass to WR Tyquan Thornton on a third-and-nine situation. On the game-winning drive, Brissett started a drive at the New England 30-yard line and led the team on a 12-play, 70-yard drive. He scrambled on a 14-yard run to convert a third-and-nine situation and then connected with WR Kayshon Boutte on a 34-yard reception on third-and-10 to get to the 1-yard line to set up RB Rhamondre Stevenson's 1-yard touchdown run. Then he connected with Stevenson on a 2-point play for a 25-22 victory.
STEVENSON RUSHES FOR TWO SCORES
RB Rhamondre Stevenson rushed for two touchdowns with a 3-yard run in the third quarter and a 1-yard game-winning touchdown in the fourth quarter. He also added a 2-point conversion on a reception from QB Jacoby Brissett for a career-high 14 total points. It was Stevenson's fourth career two-touchdown game and first since he had two rushing touchdowns at Cleveland on Oct. 16, 2022.
QB DRAKE MAYE SCORES FIRST RUSHING TOUCHDOWN
QB Drake Maye had his first rushing touchdown with a 17-yard scoring run in the first quarter. It is the longest touchdown run by a Patriots QB since Bailey Zappe scored on a 17-yard touchdown run at Buffalo on Dec. 31, 2023 in the second quarter. Maye finished the game with 3 rushing attempts for 46 yards with long runs of 17 and 18 yards.
BAKER HAS FIRST NFL KICKOFF RETURN
WR Javon Baker was active for the game and registered his first career kickoff return with a 17-yard return in the first quarter.
MARCUS JONES HAS 62-YARD PUNT RETURN CB Marcus Jones had a 62-yard punt return in the third quarter to the New York Jets 26-yard line, second longest of his career to his 84-yard punt return for a touchdown on Nov. 20, 2022 in the fourth quarter vs. the New York Jets. The 62-yard return positioned the Patriots for a 3-yard touchdown run by RB Rhamondre Stevenson.
ELLISS CREDITED WITH FIRST FULL SACK
LB Christian Elliss sacked Jets QB Aaron Rodgers for an 8-yard loss in the fourth quarter for his first fullcredited sack. He shared a sack with S Marte Mapu on a 9-yard sack on a third-down play in the second quarter vs. Houston on Oct. 13. Elliss' sack against the Jets forced a 44-yard field goal that sailed wide left.
ELLISS TIES CAREER-HIGH IN TACKLES
Elliss finished the game with a team-leading 9 total tackles to tie a career-high. He also had 9 total tackles at Jacksonville on Oct. 20.
BARINGER EXTENDS STREAK P Bryce Baringer extended his streak to 25-straight games with at least one 50-yard punt with his 52-yard punt in the first quarter. His 25-game streak is the longest current streak, with Indianapolis P Rigoberto Sanchez second with a 24-game streak.
