Patriots Claim WR Matt Landers and Place Rookie WR JaQuae Jackson on Injured Reserve

The Patriots announced today that they have claimed WR Matt Landers off waivers from Cleveland. In addition, the Patriots placed rookie WR JaQuae Jackson on injured reserve.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots announced today that they have claimed WR Matt Landers off waivers from Cleveland. In addition, the Patriots placed rookie WR JaQuae Jackson on injured reserve.

Landers, 25, originally entered the NFL as a rookie free agent with the Seattle Seahawks out of Arkansas in 2023. The 6-foot-4, 200-pounder, spent his rookie season on the practice squad for Seattle and the Carolina Panthers. He spent time with the Arlington Renegades and San Antonio Brahmas of the UFL in 2024 before being signed by the Cleveland Browns on May 21, 2024. He was released by Cleveland on Aug. 19, 2024. Landers began his college career at Georgia (2017-2020), transferred to Toledo in 2021 and then to Arkansas for the 2022 season. In 2022, he recorded 47 receptions for 901 yards and 8 touchdowns.

Jackson, 24, was originally signed by the Atlanta Falcons as a rookie free agent out of Rutgers on April 30, 2024. The 6-foot-1, 184-pounder, was released by Atlanta on June 4 and then was signed by New England on June 6.
