FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - In a matchup of undefeated 3-0 teams, the Patriots emerged victorious with a 16-10 road victory versus the Buffalo Bills to take sole possession of first place in the AFC East. They remained undefeated on the field and continue to set a standard of excellence off of it in the local market ratings.
CBS's (WBZ) 1:00 p.m. broadcast delivered a 34.0 household rating, the highest non-primetime rating for a Patriots broadcast this season, to go along with a 68 market share, which once again ranked as the highest-rated program on television in Boston for the week. It also marked a nine percent increase over last year's Week 4 game versus the Miami Dolphins, also broadcast on CBS in the same time slot.
In total viewers, the game averaged 1,205,300 viewers and peaked at 4:00 p.m. with nearly 1.4 million viewers. The National Football League's popularity was reflected nationally as well, as both the CBS national window featuring Minnesota at Chicago enjoyed a six percent increase from Week 4 of 2018, to go along with a 26-percent increase from 2018 in NBC's Sunday Night Football featuring Dallas at New Orleans.
The Patriots will look to continue their winning ways on the field and in the ratings on Sunday when they travel to the nation's capital to take on the Redskins. The game will kick off at 1 p.m. ET at FedExField. CBS's Greg Gumbel and Trent Green will call the game from the booth, with Melanie Collins providing updates from the sideline. The broadcast can be seen locally on WBZ.
