Patriots preseason victory over Saints is most watched program for second straight week

WBZ's local broadcast of the Patriots - Saints game was the most watched telecast for the second consecutive week.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - On Saturday night, the Patriots fought their way back from a 21-point deficit to defeat the Saints in New Orleans 26-24. The team's success reflected in the local ratings, as WBZ's local broadcast was the most watched telecast for the second consecutive week. 

The game garnered a household rating of 11.7, a market share of 23 and averaged 423,900 viewers, peaking at a household rating of 13.9. The next highest rated program of the week was America's Got Talent, which delivered an 8.7 household rating.

WBZ Channel 4's Patriots 5th Quarter Preseason ranked second locally for all Saturday programing, enjoying a 4.7 household rating and enjoyed a market share of 11. 

The Patriots will be back on the road this week to take on the Carolina Panthers on Friday, Aug. 28 at 7:30 p.m. The game will be televised in Boston on the Patriots preseason flagship station, WBZ Channel 4. Dan Roche will be joined by former Patriots tight end Christian Fauria in the broadcast booth, while former Patriots linebacker Matt Chatman and WBZ's Steve Burton provide commentary from the sideline.
