FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Patriots re-signed OL Quinn Ojinnaka today. In addition, the Patriots signed QB Brett Ratliff to the practice squad.
Ojinnaka, 6-5, 295 pounds, was acquired by New England in a trade with the Atlanta Falcons for undisclosed draft considerations on Aug. 23, 2010 and released on Sept. 30. He is a veteran of four NFL seasons after originally joining Atlanta as a fifth-round draft pick out of Syracuse in 2006. He has played in 39 NFL games with 12 starts during his career, seeing action at tackle and at guard.
Ratliff, 6-4, 224 pounds, originally joined the New York Jets as a rookie free agent out of Utah on May 12, 2007. After spending the 2007 season on the Jets' practice squad, Ratliff spent the entire 2009 season as the Jets' third quarterback. He was traded to the Cleveland Browns on April 25, 2009 and spent most of the year as Cleveland's third quarterback. Ratliff was waived by Cleveland on Sept. 4, 2010 and was signed to the Jacksonville practice squad on Sept. 6. Jacksonville released Ratliff from the practice squad on Sept. 27.
