FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots announced that they have released TE Clay Harbor.
Harbor, 29, joined the Patriots as an unrestricted free agent from Jacksonville on April 4, 2016. The 6-foot-3, 250-pounder, originally entered the NFL as a fourth-round draft pick (125th overall) by Philadelphia out of Missouri State in 2010. He has played 86 NFL games with 36 starts over six-plus seasons and has 111 receptions for 1,151 yards and eight touchdowns with the Philadelphia Eagles (2010-12), Jacksonville Jaguars (2013-15) and Patriots (2016). Harbor also started in one postseason game in 2010 with Philadelphia. After being released by Philadelphia on Aug. 31, 2013, Harbor was claimed off waivers by Jacksonville on Sept. 1, 2013. Last season with Jacksonville, he played in 15 games with 14 starts and finished with 14 receptions for 149 yards and one touchdown. Harbor appeared in three games with the Patriots, mainly on special teams, and did not accrue any statistics.
