FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Patriots announced today the signing of DL Amon Gordon. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Gordon, 6-2, 305 pounds, was originally drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the fifth round of the 2004 draft out of Stanford. He has also spent time with the Denver Broncos, Baltimore Ravens and Tennessee Titans.
Gordon was signed by Philadelphia on Jan. 21, 2009 but was waived on Aug. 11 and spent the year out of football.
In his rookie season in 2004, Gordon played in six games and posted 10 tackles. After spending his second season on injured reserve, he was waived by the Browns in March of 2006 and signed by the Denver Broncos. Gordon was waived by Denver at the end of training camp and spent the season out of football. He was re-signed by Denver in 2007 and made the 53-man roster, starting four games and registering 10 tackles before being waived and being signed to the Baltimore practice squad. Gordon was signed to the Baltimore 53-man roster late in the season and saw action in one game. He went to training camp with Baltimore in 2008, but was waived and signed to the Tennessee practice squad. Gordon was signed to the Titans' 53-man roster on Dec. 19, 2009 and saw action in two games and registered six tackles.
