FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The Patriots thrilling come-from-behind 22-17 victory Sunday against the Jets gave them their ninth win of the 2016 season, which has secured their 16th straight winning season. The excitement resonated with the television audience, as the game collected the highest household ratings of the 2016 season.
Sunday's broadcast received a 41.6 household rating, the highest rating of any Patriots game thus far this season, along with a market share of 66. In total viewers the game averaged 1,648,400 viewers and peaked at 7:15 p.m. with 1,921,000 viewers. The Patriots have now topped the weekly Boston television market ratings for each of their 11 regular season broadcasts as well as three of four preseason broadcasts, with the lone exception being the preseason opener which competed against Olympic coverage.
The Patriots will return to action at Gillette Stadium next Sunday to host the Los Angeles Rams. The 1:00 p.m. kickoff will be televised locally in Boston on WFXT with Kevin Burkhardt calling the play-by-play and accompanied by color commentary from John Lynch.
