Scott Peters enters his first season as the Patriots offensive line coach and his fourth season overall in the NFL.
Peters began his coaching career in 2020 as the assistant offensive line coach for the Cleveland Browns. During his first season, the Browns finished third in the league in rushing, with an average of 148.4 yards per game. Peters also helped RT Jack Conklin earn first team AP All-Pro honors and G Joel Bitonio and G Wyatt Teller earn second team honors. Bitonio was also selected to the Pro Bowl.
Peters coached two Pro Bowl sections in 2021, with both Joel Bitonio and Wyatt Teller earning invites. The duo's Pro Bowl invitations marked the first time a pair of Browns guards were selected for the Pro Bowl since 1967. The Browns also led the NFL in rushing average in 2021 with a 5.09 mark, the highest average by a Browns team since 1966.
In the 2022 East-West Shrine Bowl, Peters served as the offensive line coach.
Peters played seven seasons in the NFL and was a fourth round draft selection (124th overall) by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2002 out of Arizona State. He played for the Eagles (2002), New York Giants (2003), San Francisco 49ers (2004), Carolina Panthers (2006) and Arizona Cardinals (2007-09). He won an NFC Championship with the Cardinals in 2009, appearing in Super Bowl XLIII.
Peters was born on November 23, 1978. He played college football at Arizona State, where he earned a bachelor's degree in communications. He is a native of Pleasanton, Calif.
