Joe Kim enters his seventh season with the New England Patriots and fifth as director of skill development in 2023.
Kim joined the Patriots as a defensive assistant/pass rush coach in 2018. Kim originally began coaching in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns under then head coach Bill Belichick as an assistant strength coach/pass rush specialist in 1992. He has since held positions with the Dallas Cowboys, Miami Dolphins, Green Bay Packers, Denver Broncos, New York Giants, Buffalo Bills, Kansas City Chiefs, Chicago Bears, Washington Redskins and Penn State before joining the New England Patriots.
In 2017, Kim founded Football Combatives, a program that utilizes martial arts-driven techniques and applies them to the game of football. Originally from Bay Village, Ohio, Kim and his wife, Jeana, of 32 years live in Canton, Massachusetts, and have two daughters. Katie lives in Lakewood, Ohio, and Lexi resides in Brooklyn, New York.
