Esta tarde los Patriots lograron una cómoda victoria de 33-8 frente a los Raiders en el partido jugado esta tarde en el impresionante Estadio Azteca de la Ciudad de México frente a 77,357 fervientes espectadores.
Dominio desde el inicio
Un dominio de los Patriots desde los minutos iniciales cuando los Raiders, después de haber ganado el cara o sello, no pueden retener el balón por mucho tiempo entregándoselo a las ofensivas de Brady. Como era de esperarse, el QB de New England y su grupo variado de armas ofensiva no desaprovecharon lo logrado por su defensa y abren el marcador a través de un pase de 15 yardas de Brady al RB Dion Lewis que termina poniendo la ventaja 7-0. Desde ese momento los Patriots no miran hacia atrás y anotan los siguientes 23 puntos adicionales para obtener una cómoda ventaja de 30 – 0 hasta entrado el último cuarto de juego.
Un marcador que refleja la superioridad del equipo de New England gracias a una buena actuación de Tom Brady (30 de 37 pases, 339 yardas y 3 touchdowns). Dentro de sus receptores sobresalió el trabajo de Brandin Cooks con 6 recepciones para 149 yardas (autor de una recepción para touchdown de 64 yardas).
La efectividad en el juego aéreo de Brady hizo que el juego por tierra de los Patriots pasara a segundo plano, sumando un total de 20 acarreos para 89 yardas.
La defensa
La defensa de New England se mostró sólida al no permitir que los Raiders sumaran puntos hasta el último cuarto de juego, cuando claramente el partido ya estaba decidido.
El QB Derek Carr logró completar 28 de 49 pases, teniendo a su WR Michael Crabtree como su arma más efectiva (6 recepciones para 51 yardas).
Un buen trabajo de la secundaria de los Pats donde Stephon Gilmore empieza a mostrar esa solidez que se esperaba de él. Igualmente, mencionable es el juego de Harmon Duron, autor de una intercepción y de Patrick Chung quien recuperó un balón suelto.
Ciertamente que la defensa contra la carrera de New England tuvo problemas para frenar al RB Marshawn Lynch (11 acarreos y 67 yardas), un juego terrestre del equipo de Oakland que tuvo que tomar segundo plano debido a la ventaja que seguía sumando los Patriots conforme transcurrían los minutos.
Resumiendo
Sin duda un juego que mostró claramente en qué dirección van los Patriots. Una mayor solidez en las 3 fases del juego nos hace pensar que el equipo está alcanzando su mejor nivel en el momento perfecto, cuando los equipos empiezan a separarse entre el grupo de los contendientes y el de los resignados.
Un triunfo agradable, reconfortante y digno de ser jugado ante tantos seguidores de los Patriots en México, un lugar que nos recibió con los brazos abiertos y del cual estamos muy agradecidos.
