FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots announced today that they have signed DT Josiah Bronson.
Bronson, 27, spent the 2024 spring playing for the Memphis Showboats of the UFL, seeing action in all 10 games and finishing with 12 total tackles and a 1½ sacks. The 6-foot-3, 295-pounder, has spent time in the NFL with New Orleans, Cleveland, Dallas and Miami. He originally entered the NFL as a rookie free agent with New Orleans on May 10, 2021, out of Washington. Bronson began his career on the New Orleans practice squad. He was elevated to the active roster for two games before being signed to the 53-man roster on Nov. 20. Bronson played six games for New Orleans in 2021, before being released and acquired off waivers by Cleveland. He played in one game for Cleveland before being released and then closed out his rookie season on the Dallas practice squad during the postseason. After being released by Dallas at the end of training camp in 2022, Bronson was signed by Miami to the practice squad. He was elevated for one game in 2022 for the Dolphins, seeing action at New England. He was released by Miami at the end of training camp in 2023.
