FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots announced today that LB Sione Takitaki has been activated to the 53-man roster. Takitaki began the year on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform List. In addition, the Patriots elevated LS Tucker Addington and RB Terrell Jennings to the active roster from the practice squad.
Addington, 27, spent part of training camp this past summer with New England and was signed to the practice squad yesterday. He played in three games with New England during the 2022 season after being signed to the 53-man roster from the practice squad on Dec. 23, 2022, following a season-ending injury to LS Joe Cardona. The 6-foot-2, 230-pounder, went to training camp last season with New England but was released on Aug. 15. He then spent time with Jacksonville in training camp and then joined Washington's 53-man roster late in the season, seeing action in three games. Addington played college football at Sam Houston State and was signed by Dallas to the practice squad on Oct. 5, 2022 after playing for the Houston Gamblers of the USFL in 2022.
Jennings, 23, was signed by New England as a rookie free agent on May 13, 2024 out of Florida A&M. The 6-foot, 217-pounder, was released at the end of training camp and signed to the practice squad. He played in 44 games during his college career at Florida A&M and finished with 281 rushing attempts for 1,860 yards and 24 touchdowns.
