FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots announced today that LB Ochaun Mathis (pronounced OH-shawn) has been elevated to the active roster from the practice squad.

Mathis, 25, is being elevated for the second time this season. He played on special teams vs. Miami on Oct. 6. Mathis was signed by New England to the practice squad on Aug. 30, 2024. The 6-foot-5, 250-pounder, originally entered the NFL as a sixth-round draft pick (250th overall) of the Los Angeles Rams in the 2023 NFL Draft out of Nebraska. He played in eight games as a rookie and finished with 2 total tackles. Mathis was released by the Rams on Aug. 25, 2024.
