Patriots Make a Series of Roster Moves

The New England Patriots announced today that they have released DE Jamree Kromah from the 53-man roster and G Jerome Carvin and WR Matt Landers from the practice squad. In addition, the Patriots signed C Sincere Haynesworth to the practice squad.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots announced today that they have released DE Jamree Kromah from the 53-man roster and G Jerome Carvin and WR Matt Landers from the practice squad. In addition, the Patriots signed C Sincere Haynesworth to the practice squad.

Kromah, 24, was signed by New England to the 53-man roster from the Chicago practice squad on Sept. 18, 2024. The 6-foot-4, 275-pounder, was inactive for the last three games. He was originally signed by Chicago as a rookie free agent out of James Madison on May 9, 2024, released by Chicago on Aug. 27 and signed to the practice squad on Aug. 28. As a senior in 2023, he started all 13 games and finished with 60 total tackles and 11 sacks. Kromah transferred to James Madison after playing four seasons at Rutgers.

Carvin, 24, has had two separate stints on the New England practice squad after being re-signed last week. The 6-foot-3, 308-pounder, originally entered the NFL as a rookie free agent with Kansas City on May 6, 2023 out of Tennessee. He was released by Kansas City at the end of training camp before being signed to the Chicago practice squad on Jan. 1, 2024. Carvin was released by Chicago on Aug. 26, 2024.

Landers, 25, was claimed off waivers from Cleveland on Aug. 20, 2024. The 6-foot-4, 200-pounder, was released by New England on Aug. 27 and signed to the practice squad on Aug. 28. He originally entered the NFL as a rookie free agent with the Seattle Seahawks out of Arkansas in 2023. He spent his rookie season on the practice squad for Seattle and the Carolina Panthers. Landers spent time with the Arlington Renegades and San Antonio Brahmas of the UFL in 2024 before being signed by the Cleveland Browns on May 21, 2024. Landers began his college career at Georgia (2017-2020), transferred to Toledo in 2021 and then to Arkansas for the 2022 season.

Haynesworth, 23, was originally signed by New Orleans as a rookie free agent out of Tulane on April 29, 2024. The 6-foot-1, 300-pounder, was released by the Saints on Aug 28, 2024. He was a five-year starter at center for Tulane.
