FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots announced today that WR Kendrick Bourne and S Marte Mapu have been activated to the 53-man roster. In addition, DT Jaquelin Roy (pronounced – juh-KWAY-lin) has been signed to the 53-man roster from the practice squad. Bourne began the year on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform List, while Mapu began the year on injured reserve.
The Patriots also announced that OL Bryan Hudson and LB Ochaun Mathis (pronounced OH-shawn) have been elevated to the active roster from the practice squad.
Roy, 23, was signed by New England to the practice squad on Sept. 10, 2024. The 6-foot-3, 305-pounder, originally entered the NFL as a fifth-round draft pick (141st overall) by Minnesota in the 2023 NFL Draft out of Louisiana State. He played in 12 games with one start last season for the Vikings and finished with 8 total tackles. Roy was released by Minnesota on Aug. 27, 2024.
Hudson, 23, was signed by New England to the practice squad on Aug. 29, 2024. The 6-foot-5, 301-pounder, was signed by Detroit as a rookie free agent out of Louisville on May 10, 2024. He was released by Detroit on Aug. 26, 2024. Hudson played in 60 games with 41 starts at center, guard and tackle during his five-year college career.
Mathis, 25, was signed by New England to the practice squad on Aug. 30, 2024. The 6-foot-5, 250-pounder, originally entered the NFL as a sixth-round draft pick (250th overall) of the Los Angeles Rams in the 2023 NFL Draft out of Nebraska. He played in eight games as a rookie and finished with 2 total tackles. Mathis was released by the Rams on Aug. 25, 2024.
