FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Patriots announced that they have re-signed LB Shilique Calhoun. Terms of the contract were not announced.
Calhoun, 28, was signed by the Patriots as a free agent on May 2, 2019, after three seasons with the Oakland Raiders (2016-18). The 6-foot-4, 260-pounder originally entered the NFL as a third-round draft pick (75th overall) by the Raiders in the 2016 NFL Draft out of Michigan State. He has appeared in 41 NFL games with one start and has registered 33 total tackles, a half-sack, two forced fumbles and one pass defensed.
Last season with the Patriots, Calhoun played in 15 games and made his first NFL start in the season-opener vs. Pittsburgh. He finished the season with nine tackles and one forced fumble. Calhoun also played in as a reserve in the AFC Wild Card Playoff vs. against Tennessee and did not accumulate any statistics.
