FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots signed DT Jaquelin Roy (pronounced – juh-KWAY-lin) to the practice squad and released G Jerome Carvin from the practice squad.
Roy, 24, originally entered the NFL as a fifth-round draft pick (141st overall) by Minnesota in the 2023 NFL Draft out of Louisiana State. The 6-foot-3, 305-pounder, played in 12 games with one start last season for the Vikings and finished with 8 total tackles. He was released by Minnesota on Aug. 27, 2024.
Carvin, 23, was signed by New England to the practice squad on Aug.29, 2024. The 6-foot-3, 308-pounder, originally entered the NFL as a rookie free agent with Kansas City on May 6, 2023 out of Tennessee. He was released by Kansas City at the end of training camp before being signed to the Chicago practice squad on Jan. 1, 2024. Carvin was released by Chicago on Aug. 26, 2024.
