FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots announced today that T Caleb Jones has been signed to the practice squad and DE Brevin Allen has been released from the practice squad.
Jones, 24, was originally signed by Green Bay as a rookie free agent out of Indiana on May 2, 2022. The 6-foot-9, 370-pounder, began the 2022 season on the practice squad before being signed to the 53-man roster. Last season, he was active for two games, appearing in one, and was inactive for 15 games and both postseason games. Jones was released by Green Bay on Aug. 27, 2024.
Allen, 23, was signed by New England to the practice squad on Aug. 29, 2024. The 6-foot-4, 265-pounder, originally entered the NFL as a rookie free agent with the L.A. Chargers on May 12, 2023 out of Campbell. He was released at the end of training camp and was signed to the practice squad. Allen was elevated to the active roster for the first two games of the season, making his NFL debut vs. Miami on Sept. 10. He was released by the Chargers on May 14, 2024 and was signed by Green Bay on Aug. 7, 2024, before being released on Aug. 27, 2024.
