FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots announced today that they have released QB Nathan Rourke.
Rourke, 25, was claimed off waivers from Jacksonville and awarded to New England on Dec. 19, 2023. The 6-foot-1, 210-pounder was inactive for two games and then dressed as the backup quarterback in the season-finale vs. the New York Jets on Jan. 7. Rourke originally entered the NFL with Jacksonville when he signed a futures contract on Jan. 16, 2023, and spent time on the 53-man roster and practice squad for the Jaguars. Following his collegiate career at Ohio, Rourke played two seasons with the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League.
