FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots announced today that rookie LB Andrew Parker Jr. has been signed to the practice squad and LB Joe Giles-Harris has been released from the practice squad.
Parker, 24, was originally signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars as a rookie free agent out of Appalachian State on April 30, 2024 and was released on Aug. 25, 2024. The 6-foot-, 235-pounder, played his first three seasons at Arkansas before transferring to Appalachian State. In 2023, Parker played in all 14 games and finished with 114 total tackles, 2 sacks, 2 passes defensed and 1 forced fumble.
Giles-Harris, 27, was elevated to the active roster for the Patriots games at the New York Jets on Oct. 27, at Chicago on Nov. 10 and vs. the Los Angeles Rams on Nov. 17 and has 2 total tackles on defense and 1 special teams tackle. He was originally signed by New England on Aug. 9, 2023 and spent the entire year on the practice squad. The 6-foot-2, 234-pounder, has spent time with Jacksonville (2019-20) and Buffalo (2021-22) on the practice squad and active roster after originally entering the NFL as a rookie free agent with Jacksonville out of Duke on April 28, 2019. After two seasons rotating between the 53-man roster and the practice squad with Jacksonville, Giles-Harris was signed by Buffalo on Aug. 31, 2021 after being released by Jacksonville on May 16, 2021. He has played in 20 regular season games with three starts and has 20 total tackles and 1 sack. He was released by New England on Aug. 27, 2024 and signed to the practice squad on Sept. 2, 2024.
