FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots announced today that LB Titus Leo has been signed to the 53-man roster from the Indianapolis practice squad. In addition, the Patriots placed LB Curtis Jacobs on injured reserve and released LB Ochaun Mathis.
Leo, 25, was originally drafted in the sixth-round of the 2023 NFL Draft (211th overall) by Indianapolis out of Wagner. The 6-foot-3, 250-pounder, spent the entire 2023 season on injured reserve. Leo was released by Indianapolis on Aug. 27, 2024, and was signed to the practice squad.
Jacobs, 22, was claimed off waivers from Kansas City on Aug. 28, 2024. The 6-foot-1, 241-pounder, was signed by Kansas City as a rookie free agent out of Penn State on May 5, 2024, and released on Aug. 27, 2024. He played in nine games with two starts for the Patriots and accumulated 1 solo tackle and 3 special teams tackles.
Mathis, 25, was signed by New England to the 53-man roster from the practice squad on Oct. 29, 2024. He was originally signed by New England to the practice squad on Aug. 30, 2024. The 6-foot-5, 250-pounder, was elevated to the active roster for three games in 2024 prior to being signed to the active roster. He originally entered the NFL as a sixth-round draft pick (250th overall) of the Los Angeles Rams in the 2023 NFL Draft out of Nebraska. He played in eight games as a rookie and finished with 2 total tackles. Mathis was released by the Rams on Aug. 25, 2024. With New England, Mathis played in five games and accumulated 1 tackle on defense and 1 special teams tackle.
